Stop apologizing for what you don't know

It's not your job to know. It's your job to listen, learn, and share.

I love my clients. All of you. And you all, every single one of you over the last six years alone, have one thing in common...

You apologize, to me, for not knowing what I know.

For not knowing how to set up DNS. For not knowing how to work Google Search Console. For not knowing what Kit can and cannot do. For not knowing the key differences between Squarespace and WordPress and Ghost. For not knowing how to setup a link page. For not knowing how to format something or where to find a setting. For not knowing how Dubsado can or cannot really work for you. For not knowing what you do or don't need.

I can't count how many times I've sat across from someone during a virtual meeting and they've gotten flustered because they don't know how to do something, or where something is located.

And every time I smile and say: "It's not your job to know. It's mine."

You didn't hire me to show off your expertise in my field; you hired me because I'm the expert and you need help.

Never apologize for needing help.

Celebrate the fact that you asked for what you needed. And got it.
